Influential Spice of Old
Keeping up to date with marketing news like a dog chasing its' tail...
I must admit that sometimes however, I am a sucker for creativity (and simplicity) so long as the message matches the tone and both have been shepherd from clear brand values...
Here are a choice of brand communications commendable for shaping my admiration of marketing:
Old Spice - The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
Admirable for the strategy to instill resonance via light humour through a brand personality (Isaiah Mustafa), this YouTube series has sprung many parodies. Brand engagement of concept, viewers were accessible to the brand and the character, posting questions online for Isaiah to respond to on the social platform of YouTube.
Kotex - Inspiration Day

Kotex worked with creative agency Smoyz in targeting 50 influential users of the social media platform, customising gift boxes based on their Pinterests.
The video blog below of the campaign is a great insight into the creative strategy to harness the power of social networking:
Our Razors are F!"$£&* Great
$4500 the cost of production yet no where near the brand value gained from Michael Dubin's comedic timing.
Values of the business reflect those messaged through the Old Spice campaign but with a cheekier edge.
With a partner in the company a MySpace co-founder, raising over $1,000,000 of backing - rumours of a gimmicks shattered by over 5,000 subscribers on day 1 of trading - despite the website crashing. Dubin would not disclose any more figures...
So......... What Adverts Do You Like???
